Petrifaction – SiliaLast™and SiliaSeal™ coatings combine with the complex metal hydroxides (calcium, silica, aluminum and iron) in the cement to form chemical bonds that eliminate the potential for de-lamination, pealing, and bubbling.
Water Vapor Permeability – SiliaLast™and SiliaSeal™ coatings are highly permeable, allowing cement hydration gasses to escape while simultaneously preventing the intrusion of free moisture into substrate. This characteristic allows early application over “green” cements.
Reduced algae and fungal growth – cured SiliaLast™and SiliaSeal™ coatings form an inorganic hydrophobic surface forcing free moisture to bead and run-off or evaporate – thus inhibiting mold and mildew growth. Sunlight Resistance – SiliaLast™and SiliaSeal™ ingredients, pigments and rheology modifiers are entirely inorganic and do not deteriorate with extended exposure to UV light. Chemical Resistance – SiliaLast™and SiliaSeal™ coatings and paints are highly resistant to acids and solvents and resistant to all but strong alkalis. Compatible thermal co-efficient of expansion – SiliaLast™and SiliaSeal coatings expand and contract at the same rate as does most masonry materials, reducing potential for crazing and cracking under thermal stress.
Architectural Enhancement – in addition to traditionally dispersed pigmentation, SiliaLast™can be formulated with multiple viscosities, when properly combined, will enable an experienced applicator to create faux marble, limestone and crystalline-like features into the finished coating. SiliaLast™is a pigmented polyorganosiloxane, water based, polymer system formulated to serve as both a protective and an architectural coating for masonry surfaces such as concrete flooring, walls, decks and copings. It contains only inorganic pigments and opacifiers, rheology modifiers and admixtures. It is produced in a wide range of attractive, natural colors. It has been formulated to give an attractive, built up appearance for both vertical and horizontal surfaces such as stucco facades, pool decks and copings, cement walls and cement features. SiliaSeal WB™ is a clear, water based, one-part polyorganosiloxane polymer system formulated to serve as a film forming protective coating for masonry surfaces such as concrete flooring, walls, decks and copings. It does not contain pigments, opacifiers, or coloring additives.. It has been formulated to give an attractive, high gloss appearance for both vertical and horizontal porous surfaces such as stucco facades, pool decks and copings, cement walls and cement features. SiliaSeal WB™is an excellentalternative to traditional acrylic cement film forming coatings where high surface permeability is a significant application consideration. SiliaSeal WB™is a tough, UV resistant coating that may be applied over both porous masonry and natural stone surfaces.
